  • Director of Centro de la Gente, founded in 1979 in Salinas, CA when a group of individuals recognized a void of information and basic financial services within the local Spanish-speaking community. Centro de la Gente was originally located at the Hebbron Heights Center in Salinas, CA. At its founding, Centro de la Gente belonged to a larger social cooperation, Congreso para Pueblos Unidos (CPU), whose educated members organized within various communities to provide basic financial and legal immigration-related services during the Immigration Reform and Control Act era in the 1980s.

The Centro has transformed over the years into a tax preparation and immigration services firm and has been operating at its current location since 1995. Our clients are working families who rely on our services to complete their tax and related filing and payment obligations. Through our tax preparation services, we aim to maintain a financial balance within the local economy for those working families.
